In this video, we shall be comparing and contrasting self hosting or YouTube or Vimeo as they are peculiar to video marketing. There comes a time when you must be deliberate about taking your content optimization strategy to the next level. And there are diverse tools to assist with that. Truthfully, many are confused as to whether they should host their videos on YouTube, Vimeo or even self host. Truly, each tool has its special features and advantages.

Subscribe To Nickmetrics Official Telegram Channel

Hosting your video in Youtube

YouTube is known as the second largest search engine in the United States. This is after Google. It is also the fastest-growing search engine among people below 25 years, reaching more than 30 million people per day. Apart from being very simple to set up, it is also fast for both the main platform and every embedded video. Additionally, you can get a brand channel with only 50 subscribers.

Self Hosting Your Video

Contrariwise, self hosting videos have their own perks as well. In other words, you can create videos on other platforms like Vimeo which equally gives higher quality than YouTube standards. In fact, they give you more access to control, embedded links to other content and include a call to action. Moreover, if you have products with high resolution, you may prefer to choose a platform like Vimeo other than YouTube for video hosting. However, it is technically a bad idea to host your videos on your site. That is, self-host. This is more important when you want to store a video file which takes up a lot of space. You do not have to worry about this when you use a hosting site. Besides, imagine a situation where numerous people try to watch a self-hosted video at a time. When the requests are too much for the bandwidth of the site to handle, it becomes a problem because of the video loads rather slowly or in some cases, freezes.

Hosting Your Video In Vimeo

Vimeo offers a cleaner-looking video player than YouTube and accommodates ads to play before videos.
